Shalom! I’m Liz, and I’m in the process of converting to Orthodox Judaism. I’m writing this blog because when I was deciding whether or not to do the conversion, I was surprised by how difficult it is to find first-hand accounts of conversion to Orthodox Judaism. So I decided to document my own conversion, in the hope that it provides some clarity for those considering a similar route. I speak for nobody but myself, and my opinions and experiences certainly should not be considered anything close to halachic guidance or the “correct” way to do things. I’m just figuring things out as I go.

Because I also write about other subjects that are more political and social, I’m going to keep this blog somewhat anonymous so I can separate the personal from the public. I use some first names, but refer to most people by their initials only.
If you have any questions or opinions, or if you’d like to contribute a guest post with your own experience with converting to Judaism, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a comment.
